Future Plans
Ever since I can remember, I've dreamed of attending Kansas State University. It's crazy to think that college isn't far away anymore. I've already been accepted to KSU, and I'm extremely excited to take on this new chapter of my life. I've changed my mind since I wrote my career report. I haven't fully decided on my future career, but I've eliminated graphic design from one of my options. I'm between two options at the moment, entrepreneurship or agribusiness. I was raised on a farm, so I feel that agriculture should remain in my life. However, I still love the thought of operating my own boutique. No matter what I choose, my career will be business related.
Another dream I've had since my freshman year is throwing javelin in college. This dream could come true for me since I've recently been offered a scholarship at Friends University for Track and Field. I feel it's an honor to get a scholarship to compete in a sport at any college, but especially at Friends. They're known for their excellent track team. Many of their athletes not only qualify for nationals, but also place. I'm extremely thankful and excited to be offered this opportunity to one of the best track teams in the nation. If I decide to embark on this journey, Friends does offer some that degrees I'm interested in. They have business and entrepreneurship majors, but they don't have an Agriculture program. This is a downside for me, other downsides are the location which is Wichita- a big city, the price, and it's not K-State.
When I first started my senior year, I thought I had most things figured out. This opportunity changes things and makes the decision difficult. I now have to decide between my dream school and my dream opportunity.
Senior Project has helped me eliminate graphic design from my options. Without the Job Shadow and Career Report, I wouldn't have known much about that career. After my Job Shadow with Mark at KanOkla, I felt that I liked what the job consisted of. However, the career report opened my eyes to the financial aspect of the job, and I didn't feel it was for me. I'm thankful that I was able to realize this before I spent a lot of money on a career that I didn't feel was for me.

Activities
While in high school, I've enjoyed a variety of activities. Some of which include volleyball, basketball, track, scholars bowl, math relays, school play, Student Council, band, FCA, 4-H, and United Methodist Youth Group. I have received honors in volleyball throughout my high school career, and have attended the state band and performed my saxophone solo every year. My junior year I received a superior rating. I'm also an officer in some of these clubs. I'm the president of the Trailblazers 4-H club, and President of FCA. In 4-H, I do a variety of projects, some include showing cattle, buymanship, foods, photography, and arts & crafts. I also was a counselor one year at the ROck Springs 4-H Camp in Junction City, KS. My love for art has always been around, and painting is one my favorite things to do. I've entered my artwork in the Sumner County fair and have won Grand Champion many times. One of my paintings is currently on display at Rock Springs. I had an amazing experience this summer at the Kansas Electric Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp in Steamboat Springs, CO. To win this trip, I had to write a couple essays and travel to Scott City to be interviewed.
I plan to continue participating in a variety of activities while at college.
